Ten questions to go through before an inspector turns up
There are no deadlines and no legal references on this page. Those change, and I do not want to send you a number in a language I cannot read myself. There are only questions. Wherever your answer is “I don’t know”, that is where something can go wrong.
Ten questions
- Do you know which authority inspects your particular kind of business?Víte, který úřad kontroluje právě váš druh provozu?
- When was the last inspection, and do you still have the report?Kdy u vás byla poslední kontrola a máte z ní ještě protokol?
- Did the report list any defects? And were they actually fixed, with proof?Byly v protokolu závady? A jsou opravdu odstraněné, s dokladem?
- Do you have a list of all equipment that must be checked regularly? Electrical installation, gas, pressure vessel, lift, chimney, fire extinguishers.Máte soupis všech zařízení, která se musí pravidelně kontrolovat? Elektřina, plyn, tlaková nádoba, výtah, komín, hasicí přístroje.
- For each of them, do you know who did the check and whether that person held a valid certificate?Víte u každého z nich, kdo ho kontroloval a jestli měl platné oprávnění?
- Do you have a written record of training for the people who work for you? And did they understand the language it was given in?Máte písemný záznam o školení lidí, kteří u vás pracují? A rozuměli jazyku, ve kterém školení proběhlo?
- Do you know what waste your business produces, who takes it away, and do you have the paperwork?Víte, jaký odpad u vás vzniká, kdo ho odváží a máte k tomu papíry?
- Are you paying someone for an obligation you may not actually have?Neplatíte někomu za povinnost, kterou možná vůbec nemáte?
- Do you know which of your documents expire in the next three months?Víte, které vaše doklady propadnou během příštích tří měsíců?
- If an inspector came tomorrow, would you know where that folder is?Kdyby přišel inspektor zítra, věděli byste, kde je ten šanon?
How to reach me
I answer in Czech. I do not speak Ukrainian or Vietnamese. You can write your question in any of these languages, but my answer will come in Czech. If that is a problem, bring someone who can translate.
More detail, by what you run
These overviews are in Czech. They say what is checked, how often, and under which regulation.

Not sure about one of the questions?
Write a few lines about what you run and how many people work there. I will write back and tell you which of these questions apply to you and which do not. This costs you nothing.
